Job Summary
Oversee hourly employees to ensure production of highest quality products at lowest cost while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements. Direct crews in efficient operation of converting line and finishing equipment, including inline systems, gluing, labeling, and rotary cutters, with minimal supervision. Analyze issues, determine solutions, and implement improvements to reduce waste and increase productivity within established standards. Read job tickets, verify components, and accurately track line counts and enter codes for materials and times. Maintain 100% compliance with safety guidelines, housekeeping standards, and work rules while facilitating smooth shift transitions.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
- 5-7 years of progressive responsibility and/or related experience
- Must have the technical ability to operate all types of converting line and finishing equipment within Pregis standards for waste, quality and productivity
- Understands and adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures
- Set up and operate all special functions and capabilities with minimal supervision or direction
- Train other employees when requested or required to do so
- Analyze issues, determine, and implement solutions
- Provide innovative / creative solutions for opportunities and or improvements
- Ability to effectively set up and operate all inline equipment (i.e., gluing, Labeling, Straub Applicators etc.) as well as rotary cutter with minimal supervision
- Has the ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments
- Efficiently operates in line systems with minimal supervision
- Maintains 100% of standards in productivity, waste, and quality standards
- Accurately enters all codes for quantities, materials, and times onto required paperwork
- Understands and demonstrates ability to accurately tracking line counts
- Ability to take coaching well and communicates respectfully with others
- Ability to effectively and respectfully communicate with team and during shift transition
- Knowledgeable of safety requirements and guidelines in manufacturing/warehouse environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work instructions and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement culture
- Frequent standing, stooping, sitting
- Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50 lbs.)
- Overtime expected per business demand
- Shift work (specify hours/shift)
- Must be available for night shift (7PM–7AM | 2-2-3 Schedule)

- Fully understands how to achieve print quality and register equipment to produce required quality and can achieve acceptable registration within specified M/R standards
- Has complete understanding and ability to operate all line ancillary equipment
- Interacts well between shifts to gain and pass along all information to facilitate a smooth transition without interruption
- Establishes and promotes an environment for learning and process improvement
- Consistently looks for improvements and efficiencies to reduce waste and increase production within quality standards set
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards
- Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations
