Job Summary
Operator I responsible for safe, compliant operation of water treatment systems and related processes. Duties include conducting laboratory analytical testing for product quality assurance/control, monitoring control panels and instruments, operating and maintaining equipment (pumps, valves, gates, mixers, chemical feed, odor control), recording data, diagnosing basic operational issues and taking corrective action, performing routine maintenance, ensuring adherence to safety policies, and supporting shift operations including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties. Requires PPE compliance, ability to work in a team, and the capability to learn and operate process-control equipment in a field/lab environment; 75% field/lab time and 25% control room, with exposure to outdoor conditions and potential hazards. Education: High School Diploma or GED; certifications and background checks as specified. The employer emphasizes safety culture, professional conduct, and equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED is required
- Some experience in a related position and environment is preferred
- Must possess a valid driver's license and a safe driving record
- Must be able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check
- Must be able to pass random drug screens per contractual requirements
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities
- Must consistently demonstrate the ability to learn, independently operate and safely use assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets
