Job Summary
Grind and smooth surfaces of manufactured parts using abrasive belts, wheels, or disks to remove scratches, rust, and burrs. Polish ground areas with finer abrasives to produce smooth, unmarred surfaces and replace worn equipment. Operate certified lift trucks and examine workpieces for defects by feeling surface conditions. Select appropriate abrasive grades based on metal condition and specifications. Perform other duties as assigned due to business needs. Requires ability to work in a manufacturing environment with loud noises and moving parts, including extended standing and lifting up to 50 lbs. Must have strong communication skills, computer/ERP literacy, and result orientation.
