Job Summary

Operate a forklift inside and outside the plant to move drums and pallets of raw materials safely, exchanging verbal information with employees on other floors. Fill drums of finished materials with resin to exact weights, load chemicals into reactors for small batches, and transport filled drums to the warehouse. Read written instructions for labeling and stencils, wear a respirator for hazardous dust tasks, and perform extensive housekeeping. Learn basic manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and policies for hazardous waste accumulation, container labeling, and emergency response roles. Work a 7:00 pm to 7:15 am shift with a high school diploma required and 0–1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be capable of learning the duties of a worker in a chemical plant environment
  • Must be capable of operating a forklift
  • Must be capable of filling drums with resin to the exact weights
  • Must be capable of loading chemicals into reactors and making small batches
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb
  • Must be able to walk
  • Must be capable of operating a forklift inside and outside of the plant
  • Must be capable of moving drums and pallets of raw materials safely
  • Must be capable of filling drums of finished materials
  • Must be capable of moving these drums from the filling location to the warehouse
  • Must be capable of reading and understanding written instructions for labeling and stencils on drums
  • Must be capable of hearing a variety of warnings such as the fire alarm, kettle high temperature alarm, forklift horns, thermal oxidizer alarms, etc.
  • Must be capable of wearing a respirator for completing tasks where dusts or other hazards are present
  • Must be able to learn and demonstrate understanding of policies and procedures for hazardous waste accumulation, container labeling and marking, container storage, recycling and waste minimization, and emergency response roles in the facility Contingency Plan
  • Punctuality and regularity of attendance

Desired Qualifications

  • 0–1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor environments
