Job Summary
Operator, Components – 1st shift performs visual inspection of products, assists with set up and operation of production equipment, prepares and cleans manufacturing rooms and equipment, ensures proper labeling and storage, and documents material runs in Batch Production Records, In-Process Sheets, Log Books, and Time Sheets. The role includes assisting in training new personnel, performing calibration on scales, line meters, coating ovens, and micrometers, coordinating the work of other Operators, and serving as back-up to the Senior Operator as directed by supervision. The position requires HS diploma and at least two years of experience, and demands mechanical, communication, time-management, organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills, plus computer familiarity (Word, Excel, Lotus Notes). Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 pounds and the ability to wear a respirator, hear alarms, identify small defects, and distinguish colors.
Required Qualifications
- HS diploma
- Minimum of two years of experience
- Good mechanical skills
- Strong communication, time-management, organizational, interpersonal, and writing skills
- Computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and Lotus Notes
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stoop, climb ladders or stairs, stand or sit for extended periods
- Ability to wear a respirator
- Ability to hear an alarm
- Ability to identify small defects
- Ability to distinguish between colors
