Job Summary
Assemble and grind products such as carbon, stainless steel, or aluminum using grinders, tables, or conveyor systems. Monitor output and proper operation of mechanical equipment while adjusting parts to ensure quality requirements are met. Conduct regular inspections of parts produced through measurements and read drawings to follow production standards. Use hand tools such as wrenches, electric tools, and ratchets alongside common measuring equipment like tape measures. Fabricate railcar component parts to meet close and complex tolerances. Work in a production environment with exposure to heat, cold, noise, and moving machinery, requiring personal protective equipment including composite toed safety shoes.
Required Qualifications
- 6+ months experience operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery
- Ability to operate a computer to run reports, send and receive communication, etc.
- Ability to work in a team or independently
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and work instructions
- 1+ years experience in operating various types of manufacturing equipment and machinery
