Job Summary
Operate an excavator in construction sites to support excavation and deep foundations, performing bulk and detailed excavations, utility installations, grading, ditching, and sloping per project specifications. Conduct daily maintenance and safety inspections of assigned equipment, including pre-trip checks and activity logs, while adhering to safety policies and procedures. Collaborate with the Foreman and crew to ensure effective communication on progress and potential issues, maintaining quality results and reporting maintenance concerns promptly. Requires valid Class 5 Driver's License, experience with 200-400 size excavators, and flexibility for overtime and weekend work. Local to the Lower Mainland.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one year experience as an excavator operator in bulk and detailed excavations or experience operating on civil utility works
- Current experience operating 200 - 400 size Excavators
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Ability to travel to sites across region
- Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all shift standing, walking, lifting and carrying, working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather
- Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed
- Must be local to the Lower Mainland
Desired Qualifications
- Understand grading plans/stakes and drawings is a benefit
- First aid, confined space, and fall protection training is an asset
- Understanding of Safety and ability to communicate Safety issues as they arise
- Willingness to learn and possibly work across both our divisions (deep excavation and civil site services)
