Job Summary

Safely operate plant equipment including pumps, valves, turbines, and piping systems to support daily production activities. Monitor and control plant operations, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and perform plant startup, shutdown, and routine operating tasks. Assist with routine maintenance by replacing nuts and bolts, isolating equipment, and performing general mechanical tasks. Load and unload railcars, operate forklifts and Trackmobile equipment, and maintain warehouse and tool room organization. Comply with all plant safety requirements including confined space entry and hot work procedures. Participate in emergency response and unplanned outage activities. Complete required medical evaluations including respirator qualification as a condition of employment.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have or obtain, within the timeframe required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement, a State of Ohio Stationary Engineer's License
  • Ability to use computers effectively, including Microsoft Office applications, maintenance management systems, and email
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, manufacturer literature, diagrams, and schematics
  • Ability to identify and respond to operational issues while following established operating and safety procedures
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including exposure to radiant heat and cold, while wearing required PPE
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, perform physical work within OSHA guidelines, and work safely in industrial environments
  • All employees are required to complete and pass their annually held medical assessments, including but not limited to the Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) and the ability to wear a respirator as a condition of employment

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in a chemical, manufacturing, refinery, terminal, or other industrial plant environment
  • Experience operating or supporting industrial process equipment, including pumps, valves, piping systems, tanks, and related plant assets
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to assist in routine maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and repair activities
