Job Summary
Operate granulators, drying ovens, blenders, and screening equipment while following batch records, SOPs, and cGMP guidelines to ensure product specifications and tolerances are met. Perform set up, cleaning, preventative maintenance, and material handling for all related machinery, maintaining a clean work area and completing all required documentation. Conduct quality inspections and sampling, participate in deviation investigations, and train on new equipment including rapid mixers, fluid bed dryers, and tray ovens. Work extended hours and occasional weekend overtime in a manufacturing environment, wearing full PPE and adhering to safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- 3+ years Granulating/Blending Operator experience
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in nutritionals, supplements, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries
- Operates blending, screening & milling machines
- Must be proficient in proper setup and operation of blenders
- Operates 5 machines (blending, milling, sifting, tray dryer and granulation)
- A clear understanding of the principal functions of the blending /granulation department
- Certified forklift operator
- Completes batch card independently
- Follow SOP's and GMP's strictly
- Must be highly skilled in the proper set up an operation of blenders and granulators
- Applies cGMP's & completes batch card instructions accurately
- Able to train all activities in blending & granulation department
- Demonstrates the ability to work in a team and assist others
- Able to follow written instructions precisely and perform basic math calculations as required
- Understands and is knowledgeable of cGMP, OSHA standards etc
- Mechanically inclined to understand the inner workings of equipment
- Demonstrates the ability to read and write basic English in order to be able to understand the industry regulated instruction sheets
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds
- Must stand and walk on the production floor for a minimum of 6 hours per shift
- Must be able to wear all PPE including a lab coat, face mask, booties, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, and respirators
- Works extended hours and occasional weekend overtime
- Must be available for 2nd shift 4:00PM to 2:15AM
