Job Summary
Execute resin batch manufacturing by weighing additives, operating thinning kettles and blend tanks, and transferring materials between vessels via computer control systems. Load and operate tank trucks to package materials for shipment, while driving forklifts and pallet jacks to move inventory. Double-check batch card accuracy and input data into the computer system, then participate in process safety management reviews. Maintain a clean work environment and perform housekeeping duties as required. Work independently with minimal supervision, making suggestions to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- General or chemical manufacturing experience
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must have ability to learn to drive a yard dog/tanker truck on site premises
- Must have ability to learn to drive a forklift and learn how to a pallet jack
- Must have the ability to learn computer and process control systems
- Good reading and math skills
- Must be able to wear proper safety equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe boots, respirator masks, dust mask, fire resistant clothing, neoprene/latex gloves and hard hats
- Ability to hear to a variety of warning sounds such as fire alarm, forklift horns, kettle alarms, etc.
- Willingness to stand and work on feet and not afraid of heights
- Ability to work with and around a variety of chemicals
