Job Summary
Operate the Slitter saw to cut foam slabs into components for internal and external customers, following established production schedules and work instructions. Conduct quality checks on all materials, perform manual adjustments based on specifications, and monitor equipment to minimize downtime. Maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment while communicating with Quality Control, the Department Manager, and personnel regarding cutting instructions and labeling requirements. Verify equipment operations, report problems to the Supervisor or maintenance, and record pertinent data into the system. Work the 2nd shift starting at 4:00 pm with overtime as needed to complete daily production goals. Forklift certification may be required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and completely understand the labeling process and read and write English
- Must maintain a neat, orderly, and safe work environment
- Operates Slitter saw within the established operating standards
- Verify proper operations of the equipment and report problems to the Supervisor and/or maintenance
- Manual adjustments depending upon the product specifications
- Conducts quality checks on all materials to ensure the product meets all specifications
- Monitors the equipment to make sure that downtime is kept to a minimum
- Records pertinent data into the recording system
- Must follow a prepared production schedule to cut slabs of foam into useable components for internal and external customers
- Must follow work instructions to maintain quality requirements
- Must adjust the cutting schedule to insure the most efficient use of each slab of foam
- Must communicate with management to insure the proper labeling of cut blocks
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
