Job Summary
Operator 1 at Abbott responsible for a range of electronic assembly and test tasks for pacemakers, ICDs, Hybrids, and related medical device components. Duties include assembling, soldering, and x-raying devices; locating and correcting issues through visual inspection; performing Cutting/Coating operations, patching bubbles or voids, baking epoxy patches, and setting up/testing equipment. Adheres to FDA regulations, QMS/EMS standards, and maintains clean-room conditions. Requires gowning, ability to stand or sit for long periods, lift up to ~25 pounds, and strong hand/eye coordination. Candidates should have a High School Diploma / GED and typically six months of relevant assembly experience, with strong teamwork and communication skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED
- Typically six plus months of relevant training/experience in the assembly of digital/analog circuitry, devices, components or equivalent
- Demonstrated manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination
- Must be able to use standard hand tools used in the assembly of bio-instruments/bio-devices
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English including reading comprehension test
- Ability to multi-task and rotate through all jobs performed in the assigned work group
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, operation sheets/procedures, and related production documents
- Regularly scheduled overtime is a requirement of this position
