Job Summary
Site-based Operative role in Hatton, Lincolnshire with National Gas. Responsible for replacing missing/damaged marker posts, routine maintenance across pipeline assets, supporting high‐pressure network protection, and standby/emergency response duties. Duties include housekeeping and minor repairs, delivering planned maintenance to standards, monitoring third-party work, line walking up to 200 km/year, and contributing to safety and environmental procedures. Role involves outdoor work across terminals, compressor stations, AGIs and pipelines, and requires participation in standby rosta and occasional shift work. Strong emphasis on practical, safety-focused approach, clear communication, teamwork, and ability to work in varied remote terrain. Full UK driving licence required; Security Check (SC) clearance may be required. Required Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience in field-based maintenance, utilities, construction or similar technical environment
- Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental practices
- Ability to work outdoors and walk long distances over rural terrain
- Basic mechanical/maintenance skills and use of hand tools
- Clear communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to participate in standby rota and occasional shift work
- Desirable: Experience with pipeline operations or high-pressure systems
- Desirable: Knowledge of cathodic protection or in-line inspection support
- Desirable: Previous Safe Control of Operations authorisations (e.g. Competent Person/WPM)
- Desirable: Experience monitoring third-party works and site security
- Desirable: Relevant technical qualifications (engineering, utilities, or maintenance)
- Desirable: Security clearance
