Job Summary
Direct daily operational activities of the Boston distribution facility, including planning, scheduling, and directing packing, setup, delivery, and pickup for book fairs. Optimize performance through capacity planning and staffing methods to meet financial goals while monitoring inventory utilization and control processes. Oversee production management systems to ensure daily plans are completed and conduct monthly safety meetings with full attendance and proper record-keeping. Manage hiring, training, development, and evaluation of warehouse staff and supervisors, ensuring compliance with company standards and OSHA guidelines. Collaborate with Sales teams to enhance business performance and implement policies consistently.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in Management, Business, Transportation, or Operations related curriculum
- Minimum of 5 years of proven front-line management experience in operations for a manufacturing or distribution company
- Proven ability to manage a high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective operation
Desired Qualifications
- Inventory management experience
