Job Summary
Develop startup, shutdown, and normal operating procedures, checklists, and guidance to support safe plant startup. Lead implementation of the Operations Training and Qualification Program, including operator onboarding, simulator training, and emergency response exercises. Maintain the site Training Manual, qualification records, and documentation while developing lesson plans, examinations, and task books. Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EPC contractors to transfer operational knowledge and establish operator qualification standards. Mentor personnel and develop Subject Matter Experts to strengthen technical knowledge and succession planning. Evaluate training effectiveness through observations, drills, and performance assessments to enhance operator readiness. Provide Shift Supervisor relief coverage during routine and emergency operating conditions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license
- Extensive power plant operations experience
- Operations supervision experience
- Previous Control Room Operator (CRO) experience
- Ability to provide Shift Supervisor relief
- Experience operating and supervising simple cycle generation technologies
- Experience operating and supervising combined cycle generation technologies
- Experience operating and supervising reciprocating internal combustion engine (RICE) generation technologies
- Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and administering operations training programs
- Demonstrated experience administering qualification programs
- Demonstrated experience administering onboarding programs
- Demonstrated experience administering continuing education programs
- Proven ability to develop operating procedures
- Proven ability to develop startup checklists
- Proven ability to develop shutdown checklists
- Proven ability to develop lesson plans
- Proven ability to develop qualification standards
