Job Summary
Clean and lubricate equipment, including changing oil, while maintaining assigned areas free of debris. Assist operators during startup, shutdown, and emergency periods, and support general maintenance as directed. Complete daily duty checklists, log entries, and all required training and testing. Communicate shift turnover information and strictly comply with environmental, health, and safety regulations. Perform other similar or less skilled work under supervision on a rotating shift schedule. Maintain a valid driver's license and demonstrate mechanical or electrical aptitude.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
- Ability to work in a variety of environments including hot, cold, damp, and confined spaces
- Ability to climb and work from a ladder or scaffold
- Cooperative temperament in a team environment
- Ability to receive and clearly transmit orders and instructions in such a way as to obtain cooperation and satisfactory work results from others
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to perform the duties of this job classification through the medium of tests
- Successful candidate on the Plant Operator Selection System/Power Plant Operations and Maintenance (POSS / MASS) program
