Job Summary
Direct live and recorded newscasts using Sony ELC automation, coding iNews cues, and operating camera robotics, audio consoles, and switchers. Oversee master control operations for newscasts, sporting events, and live programming while monitoring output signals for two to four channels to ensure audio, video, and closed captioning quality. Execute breaking news cut-ins, manage playlists for join-in scenarios, route feeds for syndicated and live events, and oversee recording and playback preparation for locally produced, syndicated, and commercial content. Verify broadcast logs, check playlists, and adjust events as required. Requires knowledge of Sony ELC, XVS-9000 switcher, Wheatstone audio console, Bitcentral, ISQ, Chyron Mosaic, Power Clips, and Vinten Fusion. Weekend, holiday, and overtime work is required as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of studio and remote broadcasting technology, including Sony ELC automation, XVS-9000 switcher, Wheatstone audio console, Bitcentral Playout, ISQ Playout of Chyron Mosaic, Power Clips, and Vinten Fusion camera control
- Experience using Evertz Mediator and running master control operations during live newscasts, sporting events and other live programming
- Overseeing the recording of locally produced programs, and the downloading and prepping of syndicated programs
- A minimum of two years' experience directing and/or technical directing on-air for live news programming
- Master Control experience
- Weekends, holidays and overtime are required as needed
