Job Summary
Perform ice preparation and maintenance for the StarCenter, ensuring quality ice for general public, public, and private events. Monitor mechanical systems and execute basic repairs involving electrical circuits, HVAC filters and belts, plumbing, and general building fixes. Maintain a clean environment for guests and staff while providing custodial services. Troubleshoot problems and communicate with management and peers. Assist with setup and breakdown of on-ice partition boards and nets as needed. Work extended and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver License
- Ability to work with minimal to no supervision
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to monitor mechanical systems
- Basic working knowledge of electrical circuits, breakers, courtesy power, including GFI and lighting, changing light bulbs, etc.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC with the ability to change filters, belts, bearings, etc.
- Basic plumbing knowledge
- Experienced in general building repairs
- Ability to perform general custodial services
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and communicate intelligently with management and peers
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle large objects, tools, carts, and drive machinery
- Must be able to reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, talk, and hear for up to 8-14 hours a day
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors as required by the function
- Must be able to be exposed to adverse conditions, including inclement weather, noise, fumes, etc.
- Must be available for extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
