Operations Technical Training Specialist

Job Summary
Design, develop, and continuously improve manufacturing training programs aligned to business goals; translate learning needs into structured curricula, learning paths, and materials; standardize content and processes for consistency across teams and locations; analyze training data to identify gaps and drive measurable improvements; collaborate with leaders, stakeholders, and SMEs to capture technical knowledge into effective learning experiences; deliver Train-the-Trainer sessions; approve training documentation and OJT materials; evaluate trainer performance and coach for improvement; manage LMS enrollments, reporting, and training communications; support both hourly and salaried training programs; build relationships with external partners including schools and state agencies; travel between facilities to support training needs; cross-train across training functions to maintain a well-rounded program; operate in office and manufacturing environments with PPE requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in Learning & Development, training program design, or a related field within a manufacturing or technical environment
- Strong ability to design, organize, and improve training programs that support operational and business goals
- Proven experience assessing learning needs and developing structured training solutions
- Solid understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning concepts, and blended learning approaches
- Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), survey tools, and content development platforms
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive improvements
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly across all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to influence, guide, and support others without direct authority
- Experience working with Subject Matter Experts and cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, or similar)
- Physical requirements & work environment described (office and manufacturing environments; travel between facilities)
