Job Summary
Senior Operations Tax Specialist responsible for leading Canadian and US tax reporting, including year-end tax reporting cycles (e.g., T5/R3, T3/R16, T5013/R15, T4RSP, T4RIF; US: 1099INT, DIV and B, 1042S, form 1042 and 945), QI/FATCA/CRS compliance, and maintaining regulatory deadlines. Partners with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, compliant processes, documentation updates, and cross-functional support. Requires experience in tax processing and reporting within brokerage/clearing environments, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of tax reporting workflows; offers a base salary range of $80,000-$110,000 with bonus potential and RRSP contributions after 6 months. Emphasis on delivering high-quality customer service, adapting to regulatory changes, and ensuring audit readiness. A university degree is preferred, with additional asset qualifications in CMA/CPA/CSI courses and familiarity with Broadridge Dataphile.
Required Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of experience in tax processing and reporting
- University Degree completed
- Tax related courses and CMA an asset
- Industry courses such as CSC, CMH, CPA, offered by the CSI, etc., an asset
- Excellent knowledge of Canadian or US tax reporting / filing processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Broadridge's Dataphile platform an asset
- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, written and oral
- Accurate and detailed oriented
