Job Summary
Operations Support Specialist supports airport operations by planning and executing day-of activities, gate and terminal scheduling, NOTAM communications, aircraft escorts, GIS data analysis, and compliance with Part 139 and related aviation regulations. Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing data to support decision-making, monitoring systems, assisting with emergency management, coordinating with vendors and contractors, training and recordkeeping compliance, and participating in meetings and project work to maintain efficient, safe airport operations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration, Aeronautical Science, or closely related field OR Associate’s Degree and two years of experience in a communications center, or airport operations
- Possession of a valid California Driver’s license
- Obtain and maintain security clearance as required by role and TSA regulations
- Ability to work shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of airport operations, airport security, and aviation management
- Familiarity with 14 CFR 139 and 49 CFR 1542 (or willingness to learn)
- Strong communication and data analysis skills
- Ability to operate authority vehicles and respond to aircraft and safety contexts
- Proficiency with office procedures, word processing, file management
- Ability to prepare reports and maintain records
- Ability to work in a team and independently
