Operations Supervisor - WRMC

Job Summary

Supervise, train, and direct operations staff while ensuring proper routine cleanliness for front and back of house spaces. Execute event setup and teardowns including flooring, chairs, tables, staging, and equestrian equipment, plus perform housekeeping duties such as sweeping, mopping, and trash removal. Operate large equipment including forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, Kubotas, tractors, and golf carts. Inspect task completion to verify specifications, inventory FF&E assets and janitorial supplies, and organize storage areas. Report discrepancies, safety concerns, or property damage promptly. Prepare and monitor event spaces to accommodate needs, enforce Gendy Street Management policies, and assist other departments as required. Work 100% on-site with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college in Hospitality, Management, or Maintenance Engineering and/or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a management and/or supervisory position of public assembly facilities
  • Must have a state of Texas motor vehicle license
  • Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility
  • Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set-up/conversions/changeover especially related to equestrian and livestock events
  • Demonstrate knowledge of typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility equipment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of proper use and care of hand and power tools
  • Demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive, and expedient manner and be able to adhere to strict deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated with strong client relations and staff management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Superior customer service experience
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with internal and external parties
  • Ability to operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, or other light power drive equipment
  • Understand and work from general instructions, specifications, sketches, as well as ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, construction submittals, specifications, and other related materials
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including – nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to communicate effectively with management, guests, and team members
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
  • Must have the ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs
  • Must have the ability to lift/move 100 lbs. or more sporadically
  • Must be able to reach, lift, and bend to perform job duties throughout the shift

Desired Qualifications

  • Any experience and/or training in the public assembly facility management industry is a plus
