Operations Supervisor - Transport & Logistics

Job Summary

Oversee day-to-day planning and execution of transport services across Western Australia by displaying routes to drivers, dispatch, and tracking vehicles. Manage daily fleet operations including truck and trailer allocation, forecasting requirements, and coordinating maintenance and repairs. Lead team development through recruitment, training, and support while ensuring compliance with Chain of Responsibility, fatigue management, and safety reporting protocols. Liaise with key business partners to drive cost control and revenue growth. This role involves a visible, hands-on leadership presence on the ground within our Kenwick, Welshpool, Kwinana, and Karratha facilities.

Required Qualifications

  • Transport industry experience
  • Demonstrated experience in linehaul, container cartage, or heavy vehicle operations
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with a focus on route planning and fleet utilisation
  • Experience with transport management systems and dispatch tools
  • Proven track record in managing, leading, and developing transport teams
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage and support the growth of our drivers
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of valued team members
  • Display and distribute routes to all team members, including dispatch, routing, and tracking of vehicles
  • Efficiently plan trucks, trailers, and drivers on a daily basis to ensure scheduled work is completed effectively
  • Ability to forecast operational requirements and ensure service and repair work is conducted in a timely manner
  • Ability to manage incidents, coordinate fleet maintenance, and contribute to safety reporting and investigations
  • A strong safety-first mindset with a proven track record in creating a safe and efficient working environment
  • Heavy focus on safety and commitment to safe work practices
  • In-depth understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), fatigue management, PBS/AMMS requirements, and NHVAS compliance
  • Contribute to safety investigations and reporting relating to incidents and damages
  • Liaise and manage relationships with key business partners, ensuring exceptional customer service and consistently exceeding expectations
  • Solutions and results-driven approach, including identifying opportunities to control costs and drive revenue growth for the division
  • MC Drivers Licence (Preferred not essential)
  • Must hold valid WA driver's license
