Job Summary
Conduct daily dispatching of drivers and manage, supervise, and direct personnel in Wingham, Walkerton, and surrounding areas. Ensure school routes are covered efficiently while processing time-off requests and maintaining accurate driver payroll data. Handle public and driver inquiries with empathy, resolve conflicts, and keep staff informed of major issues. Maintain the yard's fleet status by collaborating with maintenance and inputting unit data, while creating or improving existing operations systems. Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely. This role involves reporting to the Area Manager and requires strong map reading skills for road systems and school locations.
Required Qualifications
- Operations and supervisory experience
- Map reading skills, specifically road systems, locations of schools, and major attractions
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally while exhibiting confidentiality and diplomacy
- Conflict resolution
- Knowledge and understanding of company policies/procedures
- Expertise in organizational planning and problem solving
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
