Job Summary
Lead the acid area manufacturing team by ensuring regulatory compliance with OSHA, EPA, and FDA standards while fostering a positive safety culture through mandatory training and emergency protocols. Manage daily plant operations as the production planner, optimizing utility services, scheduling acid shipments, and overseeing the ISO container fleet. Drive cost management by establishing budgets, reviewing monthly variances, and pursuing improvement opportunities to meet business commitments and customer production plans. Develop employees through coaching, goal setting, and recognition while recruiting new talent and resolving conflicts. Maintain asset effectiveness and protect people, property, and product in a continuous improvement environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline (Chemical Engineering preferred), or a high school diploma/GED with relevant manufacturing experience
- A minimum 3 years of relevant manufacturing experience required
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques including plant operations
- Management and leadership skills
- Analytical and decision-making skills
- Interpersonal and labor relations skills. Interfacing skills at all levels, as well as with external contacts and customer
- Ability to regularly move and/or lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE
- Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Must be able to safely and quickly exit the plant in the event of an emergency
- Must be SCBA trained
- Must be clean shaven
- Candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Lawrence, KS to be eligible for consideration
- Relocation assistance is not available for this role
