Operations Supervisor

Job Summary
Monitor and supervise all site operations and employees while ensuring equipment is in proper working order and safe working conditions. Sustain a productive workforce by screening, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating personnel. Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program to reduce downtime and costs. Schedule safety meetings, document attendees, and ensure employees follow guidelines. Manage inventory of supplies and materials, operate equipment as necessary, and maintain necessary records. Adhere to all wage and hour laws and compensate personnel according to established guidelines. Conform with applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and company policies. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located
- Three (3) or more years experience in the waste industry
- One (1) year supervisory experience
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 35 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, sit, walk, use hands and fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, climb, balance, taste and smell
- Close vision
- Distance vision
- Color vision
- Peripheral vision
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
- Ability to work in outdoor environment 70% of the time
- Ability to tolerate loud noise, humidity, hot and cold weather conditions, moving mechanical parts, vibration, toxic and caustic chemicals, fumes and airborne particles
- Ability to work in high precarious places occasionally
Desired Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years experience in the waste industry (landfill or transfer operations preferred)
- One (1) year supervisory experience
- Excellent leadership, communication and management skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instruction and procedure manuals, routing reports and correspondence
- Ability to satisfactorily perform all duties required
