Job Summary
Lead production and shipping schedules for 30-35 employees on the 2nd shift (3:30pm-12am), overseeing daily pallet sorting and repair operations. Provide hands-on leadership through mentoring, coaching, and resolving employee relations issues to foster a proactive safety culture aligned with Zero Harm goals. Manage shift maintenance activities, coordinate equipment breakdowns, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Monitor plant operational costs and yield in partnership with the Plant Manager, ensuring full compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws while executing Standard Operating Procedures. Identify Lean opportunities to eliminate waste and optimize asset utilization through proper transportation scheduling and driver management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors in Operations/Supply Chain
- Prior experience in a plant supervisory role in an engineering or manufacturing environment
- English Required
- 2nd Shift Monday-Friday 3:30pm-12am
- 3-shift operations
- Supervisor will oversee 30-35 employees on shift
- Pallet sorts: 60,000 per week
- Pallet repairs: 35,000 per week
Desired Qualifications
- Six Sigma/Lean certification desirable
- Familiarity with private fleet management/transportation is helpful
- Strong customer focus orientation
- Strong people management capability including non-exempt production workforce
- Demonstrated success in delivering strong employee relations
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
- Experience managing safety performance and programs
- Understanding of supply chain practices and metrics
- French & Portuguese Desirable
