Operations Superintendent (2nd Shift)

Job Summary
Lead all 2nd shift production operations to achieve safety, quality, production, and customer delivery objectives at a USDA-regulated facility. Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors and team leads while driving operational performance and reducing turnover. Ensure compliance with USDA regulations, food safety requirements, and GMPs through training, inspections, and hazard prevention. Drive production efficiency via effective staffing, scheduling, and equipment management, partnering with Maintenance, Quality, and Food Safety to minimize downtime. Monitor production metrics and inventory to identify continuous improvement opportunities, while participating in budgeting, capital planning, and manpower forecasting. Maintain effective communication across shifts to ensure operational continuity.
Required Qualifications
- Progressive leadership experience within a USDA-regulated ready-to-eat food manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience leading supervisors and manufacturing teams in a high-volume production facility
- Strong understanding of USDA regulations, food safety programs, GMPs, and quality systems
- Proven ability to improve operational performance, develop employees, and lead through change
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to build relationships in a high-turnover manufacturing environment
