Job Summary
Coordinate event changeovers, set up, and tear down staging, risers, tables, chairs, barricades, and field protection equipment at Heart Health Park at Cal Expo. Supervise temporary staff, perform repairs such as painting and replacing filters, and manage facility maintenance including loading trucks and transporting waste. Operate heavy equipment and power tools while reporting defective items, safety concerns, or property damage to the Operations Manager promptly. Requires a valid driver's license, forklift certification, and ability to perform continuous heavy lifting. Available for flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum two (2) years' experience in an operations position in an Arena, Convention Center, or Sports and Entertainment facility including set-up, housekeeping, event coordination or related field strongly preferred
- Must possess a valid state driver's license and a good driving record
- Must have prior certification to operate a forklift or have the ability to get certified
- Ability to perform general labor; continuous heavy lifting is required
- Required to work independently and under minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to meet deadlines and function under stress
- Ability to follow applicable safety rules and procedures
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule and long hours as necessary, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
