Job Summary
Oversee and coordinate the movement of vessels, motorcoaches, other vehicles and passengers to and from Allen Marine's private dock facility at Auke Bay; monitor passenger counts and modify vessel tour schedules; greet passengers and direct safe movement between coaches and vessels; shore-based operations. Serve as a communication liaison among key organizational roles, enforce operational procedures, and develop knowledge of radio/telephone communications, FCC rules, and basic maritime terminology. Responsibilities include ensuring safety and efficiency in a high-volume whale-watching tour environment, coordinating with motorcoach companies, caterers, vessels, and tour operators, and supporting special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid, unexpired USCG approved First Aid/CPR Certification
- Valid US driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test
- Fluent English with clear diction and accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation usage
- Proficiency with Windows-based computer systems and the Microsoft Office Suite
- Proficiency in alphabetic, chronological and numeric filing systems and techniques
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures
- Ability to prioritize and handle numerous time-sensitive tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively as liaison between multiple positions
- Experience with radio communications equipment is preferred
