Job Summary
Operations Specialist in a Management Trainee Program focused on developing future frontline Operations Managers. Rotational, field-based program (12–18 months) across Health and Safety, TRUX routing, Servant Leadership, Coaching and Performance Management, Route Supervision & Dispatch, Customer Service, Maintenance & Logistics, Routing & In-Cab Technology, and safety investigations. Responsibilities include Driver Oversight & Route Management, Safety & Compliance inspections and coaching, Operational Support (route sheets, billing support, coverage during vacations), Employee Engagement & Development, and cross-functional coordination with dispatch and management. Requires college/university or trade-school education and 2–3 years in a transportation-related customer service or office role; strong communication, organizational, analytical, and technical skills; willingness to work in a hands-on, field-based setting and to pass pre-employment checks. Training includes Smith System defensive driving certification and hands-on leadership development to drive profitability, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a college, university, or trade school (e.g., SAIT)
- 2–3 years of customer service or office administration experience in a transportation-related environment
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to learn new programs and leverage AI tools
- Ability to pass all pre-employment requirements
- Experience in coaching, mentoring, and leading diverse teams (training and development)
- Desire to develop leadership capabilities and advance to frontline operations management
