Job Summary
Conduct pipeline patrols, excavation inspections, and facility maintenance while locating and marking assets per Company Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures. Coordinate public awareness liaison activities, represent the Company with landowners and officials, and perform governmental compliance reporting for PHMSA, EPA, and USFS. Operate and maintain industrial equipment, valves, and appurtenances; manage mapping, recordkeeping, and data entry. Identify and correct safety, environmental, and geotechnical concerns, and actively participate in safety programs and site-specific procedure development. Will work non-traditional hours, respond to emergencies after regular business, and travel frequently, including overnight trips.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of direct work experience may be considered as a substitute for a degree/certification
- Willingness to achieve and maintain all Operator Qualifications (OQ) and progression requirements applicable to the job classification
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time
- Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies after regular business hours
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules
- Ability to successfully perform multiple tasks with strict deadlines
- Ability to organize and prioritize daily work
- Must be able to perform all essential and marginal functions of the job
- Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions
- Must be able to carry a cell phone, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, including credit report for certain positions
Desired Qualifications
- Commerical Driver's License
- Current Commercial Driver's License
- Tanker endorsement
- HAZMAT endorsement
- Associate Degree in a related field
- Detailed knowledge of compressor or pump station, gas treatment, storage facility, gathering and transmission pipeline system operation
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDS and other diagrams
- Knowledge of rubber tire backhoe operations and servicing
- Knowledge of company policies, procedures and practices, regulatory and tariff requirements
- Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high and low pressure systems
- Knowledge of compressor or pump station, terminal, process plant, gas treatment, storage facilities, gathering and transmission pipeline systems operations
- Knowledge of operating costs and best practices associated with the equipment in the area of responsibility
