Job Summary
The Operations Site Leader will oversee all aspects of a new renewable energy site, including profit and loss accountability, compliance, operational efficiency, and team leadership. This role requires a hands-on leader with over a decade of relevant experience and a background in chemical or mechanical engineering. The position is integral to establishing site KPIs and fostering a data-led decision-making culture.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of experience within a related operation preferred
- 5 years at least with a minimum of 3 years working at leadership level leading teams of 10+ people
- Previous experience of dealing with third party governing authorities e.g. SEPA, HSE, and other comparable external governance/auditing bodies
- Direct or indirect experience of the operation of an engineering maintenance function
- Leadership and soft skills training and experience
- Financial management training and experience
- Bachelor degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from a respected university
- Must have reliable means of transportation
- Must be open to smaller community living
- Needed also is a Green Card or U.S. citizenship
Desired Qualifications
- Experience of Anaerobic digestion or a closely related operation
- Knowledge of Malt distillation processes, including co-production
- Leadership experience leading team leaders from different functions
- Experience of setting up a new site and/or commissioning activities
- Experience of auditing
- Certificate/Managing Safety qualifications
- Lean or similar process-related training
- 5S experience
- EHS experience at a PSM site
- Chemical P&ID experience
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Statistical data analysis and trending
- PLC controls experience
- Knowledge of farming could be beneficial
