Job Summary

Conduct operational readiness analysis by modeling reports on worldwide operations and combatant command plans to identify fuel feasibility requirements and resolve GBFMD mission issues. Apply Operations Research techniques including mathematical programming, simulation, and stochastic modeling to assess and optimize capabilities during wargaming and exercise scenarios. Evaluate strategic objectives against logistical capabilities to provide senior leaders with data-driven courses of action, while developing innovative measuring techniques using advanced mathematics and systems engineering methods. Write comprehensive technical reports documenting complex data analysis, tool design, and test results, and provide expert advisory support for studies, conferences, and contingency events. Requires DoD SECRET clearance, a Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, and proficiency in SQL, Tableau, Python, and GIS. Onsite at Scott Air Force Base with approximately 10% travel.

Required Qualifications

  • DoD SECRET Clearance with eligibility for TS/SCI
  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a highly related quantitative discipline
  • Proven experience in Operations Research, Systems Analysis, advanced data analytics, or military logistics modeling
  • Strong proficiency in analytical and data visualization tools such as SQL, Tableau, and Microsoft Excel, Qlik, Databricks, Maven Smart Systems as well as experience with programming languages OR software (e.g., Python,R, GIS, MATLAB, CPLEX)
  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret geospatial data, utilize digital maps, and leverage spatial analysis tools to support decision-making
  • Ability to travel within CONUS and OCONUS, approximately 10% of the time

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of Combatant Command OPLANs and DoD bulk fuel/logistics operations
  • Demonstrated experience with TPFDD analysis and the Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP)
  • Understanding of the petroleum or fuel industry, including market dynamics, supply chain logistics, or regulatory frameworks
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for senior leader decision-making
  • Experience working with DoW, DLA, or USTRANSCOM
