Job Summary
Senior Operations Quality Engineer role on the 2nd shift in Andover, MA within the Effectors Operations Quality & Circuit Card Manufacturing team. Responsible for baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY), identifying top drivers, forecasting demands, and steering improvement opportunities; support shop-floor personnel and defect-prevention teams; lead APQP initiatives (PFMEA, control plans, SPC), verify improvements, and integrate verifications such as First Articles and audits to prevent quality escapes. Drive process enhancements to reduce variation, ensure on-time delivery, and maintain compliance through containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action within closed-loop controls. The role requires hands-on quality experience in hardware manufacturing and a DoD security clearance, and includes no travel. The position is onsite with an 8% shift differential.
Required Qualifications
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience
- Experience in first article inspection reports (FAIRs) and/or quality monitoring in a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Experience in development/usage of quality metrics or Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations
- Experience in manufacturing process with quality systems and/or industry technical standards (e.g. ISO 9001, AS9100 and/or AS9102)
- Experience interpreting drawings, work instructions, and/or customer specifications
- Qualifications include: J-STD-001, ISO 9001, AS9100, AS9201, Six Sigma, CORE or Lean experience/tools, and/or APQP/AS9145; PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA and/or Control Plans
- Experience with SAP/PRISM or other ERP tools
- Previous experience with circuit card assembly processes
