Job Summary
Operations Professional Development Program (OPDP) in the UK is a three-year, entry-level rotation program for STEM graduates. Participants will be a regular full-time Abbott employee, rotate through three assignments (including manufacturing and operations-focused tracks such as Technical, Operations Planning, Quality Assurance, Project Management or Engineering), and be paired with a mentor to support professional development. The program begins in Summer 2026, with the first two rotations in the participant’s home country (Witney, UK) and the final rotation abroad, culminating in a full-time position in the home country. Training is customized to individual growth plans, with opportunities to explore crossover assignments within other Operations programs, and supervision by department managers throughout each rotation. Additional program details include potential relocation abroad for the final assignment, emphasis on developing a well-rounded operations skill set, and requirements related to work eligibility in the UK.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s in Engineering (Automation/Mechanical/Electrical), Automation, Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Food Science, or related disciplines (grade 2:1 or higher)
- Track record of outstanding academic performance and co-curricular activities
- Capacity to apply skills to address operational challenges and add value
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal, leadership & communication skills
- Willingness to work on different projects
- Previous internship or co-op work experience
