Job Summary
Plant Manager for Wabtec Railway Electrics (WRE) in Germantown, MD, leading the site’s manufacturing of onboard electronic equipment and related components. Drives Lean/continuous improvement, EHS and site compliance, quality and reliability, and on-time delivery; oversees the global supply chain and facilities leadership team; ensures controllership of work orders, inventory, manufacturing variances, and functional costs; collaborates with engineering, product and project management to implement cost-reduction projects; develops capacity and contingency plans; fosters a culture of accountability, compliance, and operational excellence among exempt and hourly colleagues; ensures adherence to policies, procedures, rules and regulations and guides employee development and training.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Plant Management role and/or large Operations Supervisory role or equivalent operational experience
- Prior Operational leadership experience
- Depth in EHS, shop operations, customer service operations, manufacturing engineering, quality, materials, sourcing, and material logistics in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to utilize lean, 5s, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to adapt and flex in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to drive accountability, improve culture, and influence with both exempt and hourly teams
- Strong track record of coaching & team engagement skills
- Strong understanding of operations and business financials including shop functionals, manufacturing variances, productivity, and inventory
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
