Operations Pharmacy Technician II

Job Summary
Prepare unit-dose medications, deliver drugs, and order supplies while reading physician orders to dispense unique dosage forms for pediatric and geriatric patients. Accurately prepare non-intravenous medications, perform arithmetic dosage calculations, and label parenteral products. Communicate with patients or caregivers regarding medication possession and scheduling delivery or pick-up. Maintain inventory in assigned pharmacy service areas, replace depleted supplies, and ensure storage areas remain clean and orderly. Answer telephone calls and assist in training Operations Pharmacy Technician I. Perform all duties under pharmacist supervision in accordance with standard procedures and state board regulations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or Equivalent
- Current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided (MD: Pharmacy Technician Student Permit or Pharmacy Technician License through Maryland Board of Pharmacy; OH: Pharmacy Technician Trainee License or Certified or Registered Pharmacy Technician License through Ohio Board of Pharmacy; PA: Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician License through Pennsylvania Board of Pharmacy; WV: Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Pharmacy Technician License through West Virgini...
- Pharmacy Technician Trainee License or Pharmacy Technician License issued by state of residence (for Remote Workers Only)
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) OR two (2) or more years of pharmacy specific experience obtained within 15 months of hire
Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree OR Post high school education in a science field of study OR graduate of a pharmacy technician training program
- Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA) upon hire
