Job Summary
The Operations ocean export role is responsible for processing shipments from start to finish, coordinating with carriers and tendering shipments, creating country-specific documents, tracking and tracing, and ensuring compliance with domestic and international regulations. The position serves as the primary point of contact for customers and coordinates with overseas offices, ocean carriers, warehouses, and truckers. Key duties include daily shipment management, scheduling with carriers, documenting requirements, regulatory adherence, rate confirmation, cost containment, load consolidation, KPI achievement, lane analysis for transport mode selection, daily customer communication, and implementing solutions. Emphasis on delivering high-quality customer service, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental policies in daily operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one to two years international transportation experience or education in supply chain logistics/international transportation or related field
- CIFFA certificate asset
- Dangerous Goods Certification asset
- GDP Training asset
- Good command of English (verbal and written)
- Ability to manage shipments end-to-end
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Team-oriented
- Experience with Microsoft Office; CargoWise a plus
