Job Summary
Manage the daily operational rhythm of the stablecoin business, executing mint, burn, and redemption within defined controls while performing daily reconciliation of ZARsc against fiat reserves. Own partner and vendor operations by managing key provider relationships, running new partner onboarding, and tracking contracts and service levels. Build and document core operational processes, controls, and SOPs from scratch to maintain audit-ready records and support compliance requests. Coordinate priorities across product, compliance, commercial, and engineering teams, acting as the operational anchor to ensure the business runs efficiently. Operate independently in the first phase to establish processes, then scale the function by hiring and managing operational support as the business grows.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years' experience in operations within fintech, payments, or blockchain/digital assets
- Hands-on experience with payment operations, reconciliation, or settlement processes
- Experience operating in regulated environments
- A proven track record of building processes and ways of working from scratch in early-stage or scaling environments
- Strong coordination and stakeholder management skills across internal teams and external partners
- The ability to prioritise effectively and run multiple operational streams at once
- High attention to detail across reconciliation, documentation, and day-to-day processes

Desired Qualifications
- Exposure to stablecoins, digital asset custody platforms (e.g. Fireblocks), or crypto exchanges
- Experience in remittances, cross-border payments, or neobank environments
- A strong understanding of African financial systems or emerging-market dynamics
- Familiarity with reconciliation systems, treasury operations tools, or financial reporting platforms
- Prior experience in a startup or early-stage fintech
