Job Summary
Manage and optimise all operational activities including inventory, sawing, machining, heat treatment, testing, quality control, and health & safety to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery. Lead Operational Excellence and continuous improvement programs while implementing visual management to enhance workplace organization, SOPs, and KPI visibility. Standardise data-driven approaches for capacity planning, scheduling, and daily operational meetings, producing weekly and monthly reports to directors for performance analysis. Foster a collaborative culture across departments to support strategic needs and mentor high-potential team members. This senior role requires a track record in medium to heavy engineering environments with expertise in six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and ERP systems to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and increase profitability.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience in a previous senior Operations/Production Management role within a medium to heavy engineering environment
- Experience of leading multi disciplined teams from order receipt to despatch
- A track record of delivering and exceeding KPI's related to operational performance targets
- Qualified to a minimum of HNC/HND level or similar vocational accreditations
- Qualified in Operational Excellence competencies such as six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or other Continuous Improvement methodologies
- Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and regulatory compliance requirements
- Proficient in the use of ERP/MRP systems
