Job Summary

Lead day-to-day operations of the protein processing and distribution facility, overseeing production, warehouse, transportation, inventory, and sanitation functions. Develop operational processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and profitability while managing end-to-end distribution flow from receiving to loading. Oversee meat and protein processing, including cutting, packaging, and labeling, ensuring strict adherence to cold chain standards and temperature controls. Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy, yield, and waste, and coordinate with Sales, Procurement, and Food Safety teams to meet customer commitments. Ensure full compliance with USDA-FSIS, FDA, HACCP, and GMP regulations, conducting routine inspections and maintaining readiness for regulatory audits. Provide direct leadership to supervisors and department leads, driving continuous improvement initiatives and managing labor and operational expenses against budget targets. This full-time exempt role supports Verdi Fine Foods' 365-day operations, requiring flexibility for weekend coverage and work in refrigerated and freezer environments.

  • Train and develop employees on proper product handling, processing techniques, safety procedures, sanitation, and food safety protocols
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Desired Qualifications

  • HACCP Certification
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement experience
  • Experience with USDA-inspected protein facilities
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
