Job Summary
Operations Manager oversees and optimizes daily manufacturing operations for the Michigan City value stream, driving Lean initiatives, minimizing waste, achieving >90% on-time delivery, and leading safety, quality, and productivity improvements through Kaizen, 5S, and standard work. The role requires developing and managing metrics, leading cross-functional teams, coaching staff, implementing continuous improvement plans, conducting safety investigations and audits, and ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant production environment. Proficiency in Lean tools, scheduling, inventory management, 5S, and ERP/data analytics, plus 8+ years of leadership in manufacturing, are required. The position reports to site leadership and emphasizes hands-on, high-involvement problem solving and talent development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering
- 8+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Lean manufacturing concepts experience
- Strong computer skills and ERP/data analytics familiarity
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities
