Job Summary
Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies. Comply with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by staying updated on new legislation. Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts and reconciling with data storage systems while maintaining physical warehouse conditions through equipment inspections and repair orders. Achieve financial objectives by preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, and analyzing variances. Manage warehouse staff by scheduling assignments, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees to ensure job results. Evaluate resources and training needs for daily operations, manage the new hire process including interviews, and contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related results.
Required Qualifications
- Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
- Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives
- Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases
- Leadership skills and ability manage staff
- Strong decision making and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
