Job Summary
The Operations Manager oversees daily operations and maintenance of water and wastewater plants. Leads operators in people management (hiring, onboarding, performance management, promotions, training, transfers). Ensures SOPs, DOT, OSHA and regulatory requirements are met. Communicates with account managers on weekly operations. Conducts site visits and coordinates with maintenance teams on repairs. Manages maintenance of trucks/equipment including capital budgeting and creates monthly operations reports. Responsible for assessing performance and implementing continuous improvements. Requires BA/BS in related field, 5-7 years water/wastewater experience, and supervisory experience; Texas Class A Wastewater license or ability to obtain one in 6 months; valid CDL preferred; and relevant licenses and OSHA/DOT knowledge. Strong leadership, budgeting, regulatory documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in related field
- 5-7 years water/wastewater experience
- Two years previous supervisory experience
- Texas Class A Wastewater license or ability to obtain one in 6 months
- Valid Driver’s License
- Water/Wastewater Operator’s License (state/site requirements)
- CDL preferred
- OSHA knowledge
- DOT regulations & Utility SOPs know-how
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and regulatory documentation
