Job Summary
Oversee complex manufacturing operations, production control, and inventory activities while leading advanced process improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams. Develop and execute manufacturing strategies to meet customer requirements, prepare operational budgets, and enforce comprehensive policies ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. Identify new technologies to enhance efficiency and foster collaboration across engineering, materials, and production functions. Requires 9+ years of operations management experience, a relevant bachelor's degree, and the ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. Salary range $113,428.57 - $155,964.28 with annual incentive pay.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Operations, Business, Logistics, or related field of study
- 9+ years of operations management experience with at least 2+ years in a leadership role
- Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications
- In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of related experience is required
- Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience
- Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to cultivate a safety-first culture and maintain high levels of technical workmanship
- Thorough understanding of and experience with the practical application of production/manufacturing principles, techniques, and best practices
- Ability to understand and interpret moderately complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications
- Progressive experience with materials management systems
- Previous supervisory experience; the ability to recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence
- Ability to work on a computer for the majority of the work shift
- Hand/finger dexterity for data entry and document handling
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment
- Ability to travel occasionally as required
- Ability to read detailed operational documents, reports, and computer screens
- Ability to inspect operations and facilities, potentially in different lighting conditions
- Ability to navigate large facilities, including climbing stairs or ladders if necessary
- Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for site visits or other work-related travel
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks such as adjusting small controls or tools during inspections or demonstrations
- Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments such as manufacturing floors or during team meetings
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance
- U.S. Citizenship status
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification in Lean manufacturing processes, implementation or Six Sigma
- Advanced proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) software and data analysis tools
- Familiarity with Lean, Six-sigma, and/or Theory of Constraints Manufacturing Principles
- Understanding of Assembly, Integration, and Test practices
- Understanding of airworthiness principles, safety programs, and operational readiness expectations
- Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military
