Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations in the Redditch manufacturing facility, ensuring production schedules are met, quality standards are maintained, and resource utilization is optimized. Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall productivity while managing a cross-functional team of supervisors, operators, and technical staff. Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage inventory levels, reduce lead times, and secure materials for complex assemblies. Champion health and safety initiatives by conducting regular risk assessments and ensuring adherence to HSE regulations and ISO 9001 standards. Monitor operational budgets, track expenses, and report regularly on KPIs to senior management. Fully site-based role requiring a Green Belt or higher Lean practitioner.
Required Qualifications
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience
- Green belt or higher Lean practitioner
- Proven experience in operations management within a manufacturing or complex assembly environment
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, Six sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with ERP and production planning systems
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards within the manufacturing environment
- Fully site based
