Job Summary
Oversee all asphalt cement supply operations at the Hamilton Terminal, including leadership of personnel, health and safety, environmental compliance, inventory management, production, and capital improvement projects. Manage overall terminal operations, from receipt of materials via truck, rail, and marine vessels to loading tanker trucks for customer deliveries and operating hot oil heating and steam boiler systems. Lead the Health and Safety Program in accordance with company policies, ensuring compliance with WHMIS and regulatory requirements while administering payroll and workforce planning for a team of approximately 10–20 direct reports. Develop supply forecasts, coordinate logistics, and monitor key performance indicators to maintain operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree
- Minimum of five years' experience in a manufacturing or tank Terminal environment
- Strong understanding of liquid processing and equipment (tanks, piping, pumps, mixers, process heaters, heat exchangers etc.)
- Proven abilities to lead a mid-sized team of employees
- Proven abilities to organize and prioritize many simultaneous activities in order to meet customer and operational requirements
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Computer literacy with the ability to use common software programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word
- Aptitude to learn ERP software (JD Edwards)
- Aptitude to learn process software (tank level monitoring, process temperature monitoring etc.)
- Aptitude to learn process controllers
- Management involvement after hours and on weekends
- Energetic individual with a positive attitude
- Commitment to devoting the time to run a successful operation
- Knowledge of asphalt cement products and polymer modification
