Job Summary
Coordinate all elements of facility operations, including budgeting, purchasing, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, custodial, grounds, and technical systems. Plan, direct, and review work plans for event changeovers; assign projects, monitor workflow, and evaluate procedures. Select, train, motivate, and evaluate staff; coordinate labor hours and report allocations to the Director of Finance. Participate in Operations budget development, forecast staffing and equipment needs, and approve expenditures. Ensure staff safety and compliance with OSHA regulations; maintain hazardous materials records and equipment inventory logs. Order supplies within budget guidelines and monitor contractor performance. Serve as facility safety chairman to maintain a secure environment for public and employees. Work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an operations position in the arena, convention center, or public assembly facility
- knowledge of setup/housekeeping and event coordination
- progressive supervisory responsibility
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Self-motivated
- excellent organizational skills
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, holidays, and an extended number of consecutive days
- The duties of this position are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time
- The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and minimal during non-event times
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a related field (Facility Management, Engineering, Sports Management, etc.)
