Operations Manager

Job Summary

Coordinate vessel operations, cargo storage, and stevedoring activities while supervising field labor and assigning personnel to daily jobs. Conduct site inspections for maintenance needs, analyze production metrics and budgets to identify cost savings, and investigate workplace accidents with the Safety Manager. Maintain strong customer relationships by resolving issues and report equipment deficiencies to the Maintenance team. Ensure all Federal, State, and Local reporting is completed timely while fostering safety culture and managing performance appraisals. Requires a Bachelor's degree, 5+ years in bulk commodities logistics, valid Driver's License, and TWIC eligibility. Ability to travel and work flexible hours including nights and weekends is required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of warehouse or terminal operations experience, preferably in bulk commodities or maritime logistics
  • Strong knowledge of bulk material handling and experience with heavy equipment
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a fast-paced, industrial environment
  • Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA) and environmental compliance standards
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Must have or meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a TWIC
  • Must have the ability to travel to other Company operations as needed
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, based on vessel and cargo schedules
  • Must have the ability to climb stairs, ladders, and board vessels

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working in or alongside port operations
  • Experience with bulk commodities such as aggregates, salt, fertilizer, grain, or similar materials
  • Knowledge of trucking logistics, rail coordination, and intermodal operations
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement certifications
